Life Festival in Oswiecim: Performing against Hate, Antisemitism and Xenophobia
Auschwitz-Survivors from all over the world are happy and grateful for the musicians coming to perform at the Life Festival in Oswiecim and bringing their clear message of peace, tolerance and their performing against hate, antisemitism and xenophobia in Europe today.
In Oswiecim Christoph Heubner, the Executive Vice President of the Commitee stated:
"The survivors of Auschwitz have worked all their life in the same direction and tried through many meetings with young people worldwide to encourage them for tolerance and democracy. The survivors would be very happy if the artist coming to Oswiecim would visit the Auschwitz Birkenau State Museum too: This would be a powerful statement not only to young people that to remember the facts of history and to honour those who were murdered in Auschwitz is a basic signal for the future. Especially in this year – with Elton John as a special Guest – the Festival will hopefully send a very clear and human signal of empathy and solidarity with those who were killed and whose who still suffer in Orlando."
