Germany’s Federal Minister of the Interior Wolfgang Schäuble receives the IAC Presidium

The Federal Minister of the Interior Dr Wolfgang Schäuble received the members of the Presidium of the International Auschwitz Committee for an exchange of information in Berlin on 16 June 2006.
President Noach Flug thanked the Federal government and in particular the Ministry of the Interior for the continuing support of the work of the IAC.
“ We are very glad that thanks to this support we have been able to intensify our educational and political work”, Flug stressed.
Minister Schäuble expressed his thanks to the Auschwitz survivors for their numerous talks and meetings with young people at schools. To sensibilise the youth in Europe for democracy and tolerance and the threats to it is the most important objective of political education.
The contribution of the IAC – in particular the talks with contemporary witnesses – represents a high value.
We, the Federal Government of Germany, have to thank you for your work and we think it is good, that you do this here in Berlin.
