Book on the work of the IAC published in JapanDuring the past few years the Japanese journalist and author Toru Kumagai watched the political development in Germany in an intensive and sensitive way. His particular interest was focussed on the way the Germans analysed their past, especially in comparison with the lacking interest of people in Japan to deal in a critical way with their own history during World War II. In his new book published in 3,000 copies which appeared in Tokyo, in March 2007, Toru Kumagai also refers to the work of the International Auschwitz Committee: "I have reported about the way the past is analysed in politics, education and justice, and about the problems that Germany faces today (right-wing violence, anti-Semitism). The book does not only describe the work of Action Reconciliation Service for Peace, but also the work of the International Auschwitz Committee and the International Youth Meeting Centre in Oswiecim. I'm happy that I was able to publish this book finally. It was difficult to find a publishing house that was willing to put such a demanding subject on the market."
