General Assembly of the IAC meets in Oswiecim/Auschwitz

The General Assembly of the International Auschwitz Committee which will be attended by survivors of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp and delegates of Auschwitz foundations from 14 countries will take place in Oswiecim/Auschwitz from 20 to 22 April 2007.

"We want to take up the United Nations' initiative "Remembrance and Beyond" related to the International Day of Remembrance of the Holocaust Victims and seek above all the dialogue with young people at our General Assembly, to make sure that they will continue our commitment against anti-Semitism, racism and intolerance in the future. The Auschwitz Memorial is of utmost importance in this context. We are happy that for the first time our General Assembly will be attended by representatives of Auschwitz foundations from the Czech Republic and from Greece who will report about their commitment and their experiences", the President of the International Auschwitz Committee, Noach Flug, stressed in Jerusalem.
