Right-wing terrorists: link with Auschwitz

It will take weeks before all of the connections and contexts used for many years by the right-wing terrorists from Zwickau are finally revealed. But already the dimension of the crimes and the ice-cold hatred that they express have both alarmed and horrified the survivors of the German concentration camps. In particular, they are deeply concerned by the fact that Auschwitz once again obviously plays a central role in the ideas of these terrorists.

During a visit to Zwickau, the Executive Vice-President of the International Auschwitz Committee Christoph Heubner stressed: "The terrorists' final concept and the final conclusion of their thoughts are unequivocally linked with the theme of Auschwitz. One of the videos shows a consciously engineered message to German society in the lettering of "Nationalsozialistischer Untergrund" (National Socialist Underground) which is modelled in the style of the cynical motto "Arbeit macht frei" (Work sets you free) set above the entrance gate to Auschwitz concentration camp.

The ultimate intentions of the right-wing terrorists are clearly signified by this link: the destruction of their opponents. We hope that those responsible in the state, the police and in society now recognise this challenge."
