IAC recommends films:
Films 'after' Auschwitz and films 'about' Auschwitz

In 2012 the International Auschwitz Committee will again be involved on the jury of the Peace Film Award at the Berlinale, the Berlin International Film Festival.
Films 'after' Auschwitz and films 'about' Auschwitz: they will become increasingly important in the future, in order to tell young people not only what happened in Auschwitz, but also 'how' and 'why'.

As early as 2004, the French Auschwitz survivor and the first woman president of the European Parliament, Simone Veil, pointed out in a talk with Christoph Heubner, that she was firmly convinced that in future the memories of many concentration camp survivors would be taken up by film directors, and thus preserved – for the times when the survivors are no longer here among us to share their stories.

So now, in this context, the International Auschwitz Committee will be presenting films that are connected with our complex of themes.

The journalist Bernd Oertwig is beginning this series with a review of the films "Sarah's Key" and "Cheyenne – This must be the place".

If you don't tell a story, it will eventually be forgotten.
