Auschwitz survivors around the world are still waiting for the decision of the Federal Court of Justice on a revision in the Auschwitz trial against Oskar Gröning against whom a judgement was made in July 2015 in Lüneburg. The press office at the Federal Court of Justice was unable to give a decision-making date.

In Berlin the Executive Vice President of the International Auschwitz Committee, Christoph Heubner, said:

"All of this is a race against time, which the Auschwitz survivors do not have. They are waiting for the decision of the Federal Court of Justice with increasing unease and existential interest. They want to know during their lifetime whether there will be a supreme-court decision in Germany that finally recognizes the overwhelming totality of the Nazi system of murder and the mutual responsibility of all of the SS that participated."
