Holocaust survivors were appalled at the AfD’s entry into the German Bundestag: time and again, scandalous behaviour is now proving their fears are well-founded.

Christoph Heubner, Executive Vice President of the International Auschwitz Commitee, said in Berlin:

"Once again the AfD is showing its true face: absurd and shrill howling on Twitter by Ms Storch and Ms Weidel, and then the climax from MP Maier who, in his Twitter account, insulted Boris Becker’s son by calling him a ‘half-nigger’. And of course, Herr Höcke will also be able to remain in the AfD. In every party that considers respect and historical consciousness to be a matter of fact, the parliamentary group would have long since fired Herr Maier and the party would have expelled Herr Höcke."
