On the decision of the AfD for Herr Gedeon to remain a member of the party, Christoph Heubner, Executive Vice President of the International Auschwitz Committee commented in Berlin:

"For Auschwitz survivors, it is outrageous and painful to see that Herr Gedeon, a self-confessed Jew hater who denigrates the survivors’ memories and experiences of the Holocaust, continues to represent the AfD. Following this decision it has hopefully become blatantly clear that, despite all lip service, the AfD remains a party in which the traditions of right-wing extremist ideology are deeply embedded. From now it appears justifiable to dub the AfD as: Anti-Semitism for Germany."
