Survivors of the Holocaust in Hungary are reacting with horror and outrage at news that the Holocaust denier Horst Mahler is currently in Hungary and might ask the Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orbán for asylum.
Commenting on this during a visit to the Auschwitz Memorial, the Executive Vice President of the International Auschwitz Committee Christoph Heubner stressed:
"Auschwitz survivors in Hungary regard Horst Mahler as the most prominent and coldest face of German Holocaust deniers. They perceive Mahler’s presence in Hungary as an attack on their human dignity and the dignity of their murdered loved ones. The International Auschwitz Commttee is appealing to Prime Minister Orbán, to extradite Mahler as soon as possible from Hungary and return him to Germany."
