Christoph Heubner, author and vice president of the International Auschwitz Committee, will go on a reading tour with his new book "Durch die Knochen bis ins Herz" in November.

For more than four decades, Christoph Heubner has accompanied survivors of Auschwitz and listened to them talk about their happiness and pain after "surviving".

Heubner's new stories are about olives, ants and a piece of margarine paper, about images, smells and memories that the survivors cannot forget throughout their lives - and about their awareness that they must also speak for those who did not survive and who are as close to them as the number on their arm.
