Commenting on today's first session of the newly elected Thuringian state parliament, Christoph Heubner, Executive Vice President of the International Auschwitz Committee, said:

“One would almost like to be grateful to the AfD and its deputy Treutler for exposing themselves in this very first session and clearly revealing the callousness and brute force with which they intend to counter democracy and the constitution in Thuringia. Above all, however, this was an excellent lesson for all those who still believe that the AfD is in any way interested in or compatible with democracy.”
