Election forecast in France is an encouraging signal for Europe.

Commenting in Berlin on the election forecast in France, Christoph Heubner, Executive Vice President of the International Auschwitz Committee said:

"This election forecast comes as a huge relief and an encouraging signal for a lot of people in France and many other countries in Europe.

The firewall of democracy is standing firm against the extreme right. The values of the republic and its memories and experiences of the darkest times of hatred, exclusion and war have been mobilized and are present in the hearts and minds of the people."
