Repeated demands are being made to remove right-wing extremist officers from the police force. In Saxony-Anhalt a self-confirmed far-right extremist and despiser of the republic has returned to the police service. Christoph Heubner, Executive Vice President of the International Auschwitz Committee commented as follows:
"The return of the AfD politician, Mario Lehmann, to the police force in Saxony-Anhalt is a scandal. Not only are Lehmann’s cynicism and greed scandalous, in that he is gladly accepting a salary from the state that he openly despises. Equally scandalous is the apathy of the police authorities in Saxony-Anhalt who are enabling Lehmann to infiltrate the police force yet again. We can only hope that Lehmann’s colleagues in Magdeburg refuse to react to his primitive right-wing comments with any form of acknowledgement, acceptance or mere shoulder-shrugging, but actively file official reports to his superiors."
