Herr Höcke remains the right-wing extremist mouthpiece of the AfD
Commenting on the decision of the AfD not to exclude Herr Höcke from the party, Christoph Heubner, the Executive Vice President of the International Auschwitz Committee said in Berlin:
"It is becoming very clear that the majority of people in the AfD are distancing themselves from Mr Höcke purely for tactical purposes. The fact is often ignored in the public debate that Mr Höcke’s speech was about destroying the politics of memory in Germany and not about the inner workings of the party which is already riddled with toxic intrigues and personal hatred. The ridiculous telephone conference cannot fool people: the federal board of the AfD only just managed to scrape together the pitiful remains of common ground and agree to look into disciplinary measures against Mr Höcke. The fact is: Mr Höcke remains the right-wing extremist mouthpiece of the AfD."
